Phillip Island is home to to three award-winning, family-owned wineries, all offering relaxed cellar door experiences including Phillip Island Winery, Purple Hen Winery and Silverwaters Vineyard. Set amongst peaceful Island farmland, there’s arguably no better way to while away an afternoon than over a grazing platter and bottle of premium, cool climate wine.

This place has everything. Sophisticated dining, stunning wines, and even family-friendly Sunday afternoons. That’s right, if it’s not raining, the winery will host a Sunday arvo sesh with lawn games and a relaxed vibe that the locals just love. Check out their socials beforehand, as they do host quite a few weddings and private events.
414 Berrys Beach Road, Ventnor
Down a quiet country road, surrounded by farmland, and the shimmering waters of the Bay of Western Port, you’ll find Purple Hen Wines. The Cellar Door is open throughout the year from about 11am to 5pm, but check their website before you go – they’re usually closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Silverwaters Vineyard is located just over the bridge in San Remo. It is a ‘hands on’ small family business producing award winning wine. We love the cellar door’s cosy vibes with water views and also their incredible selection of cheeses, cold meats and bar snacks. It is the perfect place to sit back and relax and enjoy some quality wine.
